The riding trail maybe filled with dips and obstacles. From there, this would test bikers’ abilities to test their physical and mental limits thus bringing them closer to nature which in turn promote healthy lifestyle.
We got the opportunity to witness Padyakan sa Bataan 2017, an annual mountain bike circuit race in commemoration of the 75th Araw ng Kagitingan.
This was held at Karagatan Bay View Peaks Bataan Freeport Area, Mariveles, Bataan last April 2, Sunday attended by more than 600 bicycle enthusiasts.
This is organized by The Provincial Government of Bataan in cooperation with the Municipality of Mariveles, Bataan Tourism Council Foundation, Inc. and the Bataan Trailriders and Adventurers Network (BaTAAN).
The trail maybe filled with dips and obstacles. Idea is, this is design to test bikers’ abilities their physical and mental limits thus bringing them closer to nature which in turn promote healthy lifestyle.
This is also the fist time I saw Push Bike and competing bike category for kids where they race around the base camp.
The said category is made available to allow kids to get together and share their passion for riding bikes in a friendly competitive racing.
Announced winner for the Push Bike Category is Ceana Aleonar.
She is so cute. A four-year old girl won this competition among the boys. She even lifted her bike when she got her medal.
There are also several categories to choose.
Some of it is a 3km (approximately) loop that features single and double tracks, climbs and descents, with amazing view of Corregidor, West Philippine Sea and Bataan mountain ranges. Open category riders did the five (5) laps while Age category and Single Speed with three (3) laps. Fun category riders did two (2) laps.
Cash prizes and medals were given to top three (3) winners per category.

Congratulation to the organizers, sponsors, local government unit and local groups of Bataan.
Checking this significant bike tournament thru a road trip that is coming from the southern part of Laguna travelling to northern part of Bataan is such a thrilling adventure to remember.
